| 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful By Chris Lehman (Harrisburg, PA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Spiritually Parenting Your Preschooler: Start your children on the right path to know God (Paperback) I am a mother of three children 6, 4 and 3. I was so excited to find a book focusing on young children. This book is packed full of creative ideas, insights and fun stories. The author opens up her life and the life of her family to give real solutions and examples. She covers a wide range of topics such as sibling rivalry, self esteem, discipline, schooling, prayer and praise journals. I have implemented many ideas already. I meet with preschoolers and their moms once a week to focus on prayer and worship. We are learniong to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Hope Flinchbaugh gave me some great insight to teaching this truth and getting it deep into our hearts. We are encouarging the children to be yeiled to the Holy Spirit. It is exciting being part of what God is doing in these children. My greatest desire is to see my children grow in Jesus and be complete in Him. This book is a must read for anyone who has the... As a professor of Christian education at a Christian University in Orlando, I not only found this material extremely beneficial for future pre-school teachers but also for parents and grandparents. This book is loaded with helpful suggestions that will stir up those creative juices to take your teaching and parenting over the top. If you are looking for a book that will help you select the right school for your children, instruct you about how to teach character and godly living, realize the value of spontaneous praise and worship and learn how to survive as a single parent, this will bring you some incredible answers. I particularly liked the flow of the book as well as the genuine compassion when dealing with rather delicate issues like teaching about prayer and building Christ esteem. The author's sense of humor and realness makes this book a keeper! By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) It has a great variety of easy to implement, fun, hands-on activities to do with your children. Many of the activities are quick to set up, using common household items. I have two preschoolers who have enjoyed several of the activities listed in the book. They view this time as play time without realizing that they are learning so much. I also love that this book includes pictures of several of the activities. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful This review is from: Help Your Preschooler Build a Better Brain: Early Learning Activities for 2-6 Year Old Children (Paperback) I am a grandmother with preschoolers and one in kindergarten. This is a great option for creative play instead of tv or videos. They love to have special things to do at Grandma's and I love that they are learning while they play. The book is easy to read and lets you "get creative" yourself with interactions with the kids. In a time when families are so busy, I love the fact that I can make a real difference in my grandchildrens lives, by stimulating their brains instead of passive entertainment methods. And I get to have fun with them while I do it! Get the book- it is fabulous. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful This review is from: Help Your Preschooler Build a Better Brain: Early Learning Activities for 2-6 Year Old Children (Paperback) Several years ago when I began homeschooling, I wish I would have had this wonderful book. Now many years into it, I am confident in teaching my 3 children, but John Bowman's book has shed new light for me. I think any parent interested in providing their child with early learning opportunities at home NEEDS this book! It is an easy read and filled with valuable information! |

For example, the ways early literacy, family ties, and memory making can be enhanced using Carolyn Munson-Benson's inspired, practical book about the influential relationship of preschoolers, adults, and books are developed with such mindfulness and delivered with such clarity in this sensible compilation of reading suggestions, doable activities and things to talk about, that one longs to pass it around and let it speak for itself. Good stuff! Those familiar with the old favorite, Whole Child, Whole Parent by Polly Berrien Berends, will recognize similar caring intelligence in Munson-Benson's writing. Those who use Starting Out Right: A Guide to Promoting Children's Reading Success by M. Susan Burns, Peg Griffin, and Catherine E. Snow, will welcome Munson-Benson's juicy applications of its sound principles. Those motivated by Jim Trelease's stirring Read-Aloud Handbook will find...
